Your Instructor

I’m Lori Brunner—an interior designer, artist, former professor of Interior Design, and I hold a PhD in Education.
I’ve spent years designing, teaching, and studying how people learn. My own interiors have been featured in AD Italia, ELLE Decoration, House & Garden, and Homeworthy.
I created the Academy to bring those worlds together: professional design knowledge taught in an approachable way for people who aren’t designers—but who care about living beautifully.
My goal isn’t to tell you exactly what your home should look like.
It’s to teach you how to make better design decisions for yourself.

The Academy is designed to fit into real life.
As a member, you’ll have access to live lectures and design discussions, where we can explore important interior design principles together in real time.
Can’t attend live? You’ll also have access to recorded, on-demand lessons that you can watch when it’s convenient for you—and return to whenever you need a refresher.
You’ll learn about subjects such as

Live Q&A
Bring Your Questions to Me
This isn’t simply a library of prerecorded courses.
Members will also have opportunities to participate in live Q&A sessions, where you can ask questions about the concepts we’re studying—and how they relate to your own home.
And through selected member photo analyses, we’ll look at photographs of real spaces submitted by Academy members.
We’ll discuss what may be working, what could be improved, and—most importantly—why.
You’ll learn not only from your own questions, but from seeing how design principles apply to the homes and design challenges of other members.

A place where people can share ideas, ask questions, learn from one another, and become more confident in their own point of view.
You don’t need design credentials.
You don’t need to know all the terminology.
