Working in a predominately abstract style, my compositions are focused on texture, shape, line, and contrast. Some pieces project an abundance of energy, while others remain unobtrusive and delicate. I like to experiment with scale. Quiet compositions may command a room with their physical dimensions, and smaller works may exhibit intensity and authority with vibrant colors.
My education and experience span several disciplines with my art practice coming to the forefront in the last few years. While I have painted throughout my life, for over 15 years I was a professor in interior design where I taught graduate and undergraduate studios in residential, hospitality, workplace and retail design. My years in interior design have influenced my approach to creating art.
