A free 7-day challenge
Create a room that looks professionally designed
One lesson a day for seven days, from a former professor of interior design. By the end of the week, your room will look and feel different.
The challenge
Your home should feel finished, not almost finished
Most rooms are not missing money. They are missing a decision made in the right order. If your space feels close but not quite right, the reason is usually structural, and it is fixable.
Over seven days I will walk you through the same design principles I taught for more than 15 years as a university professor of interior design, so you can create a room that feels intentional, polished, and pulled together.
One lesson each day
Short enough to read with your coffee. Specific enough to use the same afternoon.
One small action step
Seven steps, seven days, and a noticeably better room by the end of the week.
What you will learn
Seven days, seven decisions
- Day 1Choose a clear direction for your room before you start designing
- Day 2Arrange furniture for better balance and flow
- Day 3Create a cohesive color palette
- Day 4Get scale and proportion right
- Day 5Layer lighting, art, pattern, and materials
- Day 6Style your room so it reads as polished rather than cluttered
- Day 7Add the finishing touches that make a room feel complete and meaningful
You do not need a big budget or all new furniture
You do not need to replace what you own. Some of the biggest improvements come from knowing what to keep, what to move, what to change, and what your room actually needs.
I will help you start looking at your space through the eyes of a designer.
Your instructor
Lori Brunner
I am an interior designer and artist, and I help homeowners create beautiful, elevated interiors.
I spent more than 15 years as a university professor of interior design at Arizona State University and Iowa State University, where I mentored thousands of design students. I hold a Ph.D. in education, an MFA, a master of urban planning, and a bachelor of science in architectural studies. My interior design and artwork have been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decoration, and Modern Luxury.
A professionally designed room is not the result of buying more expensive furniture. It comes from knowing which decisions to make, and in what order. That is what these seven days are about.
By day seven
