Hi everyone,
I thought this would be a good place to share updates about what is going on at Lori Brunner Art. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Check out our online interior design class here! In the meantime, here is our first talk and tour video!
In this week’s video focus, I talk about guest rooms. It is an interesting challenge to make these spaces feel luxurious, welcoming, and calming. Guest rooms can be a temporary retreat for your visitors, so I try to take special care in these sometimes forgotten areas of the home. Not surprisingly, I start with the art! You can rotate your collection or just find some pieces that you know will stand the test of time. You will see in the video, the guest room example does not have too many pieces, but they make a big difference in the room. It went from institutional-looking to a boutique hotel room very quickly. I believe it is important to keep enough space for the guests’ belongings so the rooms typically have just a bed, nightstands, lamps, and luggage racks. Your focus can then be on the walls!
When I say I like to keep the guest rooms minimal, that does not mean one should neglect quality and details. From the sumptuous mattress to the crisp cool sheets, to the plush white towels, your guests will notice the difference. Add in a few good books on the nightstand, a phone charger mat, and plenty of extra hangers in the closet to pamper your guests for their stay. If you would like to know more about the products and art in the video–just reach out, I’d love to hear from you!
Cheers,
Lori
